Finding MeMo...
Finding MeMo...

So, you’re just living your life, minding your own business, and then—WHAM! One day, your body decides to betray you. Suddenly, your mood swings harder than Spider-Man through Manhattan, your patience evaporates faster than your favorite red wine on a summer day, and you start sweating like Batman in broad daylight.

Congratulations! You have entered the delightful, chaotic realm of premenopause—the time when the Menopause Monster (MeMo) moves into your body like an uninvited houseguest and starts redecorating your hormonal balance with a sledgehammer.

Meet the MeMo: Your New Worst Frenemy

MeMo isn’t subtle. It doesn’t whisper, it ROARS. It sneaks into your life like a villain in a bad horror movie, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. And oh, it has a strategy.

1. The “Surprise Sweat Attack”

It’s 3 AM. You’re sleeping like a baby—well, like a baby that actually sleeps—and then suddenly, BOOM. You wake up in a puddle of your own sweat, drenched like you just ran from Jason Voorhees. You flip the blanket off. You freeze. You pull it back on. You overheat. You toss it off again. And now, you’re lying there, contemplating the meaning of life, wondering why your own body has turned into a malfunctioning thermostat.

2. The “Where Did My Brain Go?” Saga

You walk into a room and immediately forget why you’re there. You open the fridge, stare into it like it’s the gateway to another dimension, and suddenly have no idea what you were looking for. You start speaking in sentences that sound perfectly fine in your head, but when they come out of your mouth, it’s pure chaos:“Can you pass me the thing? The…uh…you know, the food…square…cheese! Cheese!”

MeMo delights in stealing your vocabulary like a Dementor sucking the soul out of your brain.

3. Mood Swings That Rival a Supervillain Origin Story

You’re fine. You’re fine. You’re FURIOUS. You’re crying at a car commercial. You’re laughing hysterically because your dog sneezed in a funny way. Then you’re angry at your own laughing. If MeMo had a catchphrase, it would be:“Oh, you thought you had emotional stability? HAHAHAHA. Cute.”

4. The “Weight Gain Conspiracy”

One day, you realize your jeans are tighter than an overstuffed burrito. You swear you haven’t changed your eating habits, but somehow, your metabolism has decided to retire early. Meanwhile, MeMo is in the background, cackling as you wonder if you now absorb calories through osmosis.

5. The “Random Rage Against Everything” Phenomenon

The grocery bag breaks.Someone chews too loudly. The Wi-Fi lags for 0.3 seconds.Your dog looks at you funny.

Boom. Rage mode activated. And then, two minutes later, you’re hugging your dog and apologizing for overreacting. (Don’t worry, your dog forgives you. Your partner, on the other hand, is still hiding behind the couch.)

How to Outsmart the MeMo (Or At Least Try)

Look, you can’t defeat MeMo—it’s like Thanos. It’s inevitable. But you can fight back:

Hydration & Exercise – Because if you’re going to sweat uncontrollably, you might as well pretend it’s from a workout.

Stockpile Snacks – Prevent rage-induced destruction by always having emergency chocolate.

Write Everything Down – Since MeMo is actively stealing your memory, keep notes everywhere. (Sticky notes, phone reminders, write it on your arm—whatever works.)

Warn Your Loved Ones – Just hand them a note that says: “If I snap, it’s not personal. It’s MeMo.”

Final Thoughts (If I Can Remember Them)

Premenopause is a wild ride, and MeMo is an unpredictable little gremlin that thrives on chaos. But here’s the good news: you’re not alone. We’re all out here, forgetting what we walked into the room for, sweating through our pajamas, and crying over puppies on Instagram.

So, raise your (probably lukewarm) wine glass and toast to surviving yet another day with MeMo.

We may not win every battle, but at least we can laugh through the war.
